Studio Ghosts: When you're in the studio painting, there are a lot of people in there with you - your teachers, friends, painters from history, critics... and one by one if you're really painting, they walk out. And if you're really painting YOU walk out. (Philip Guston)
My studio is my hideout, my refuge, my prison. From everywhere my paintings shout at me: finish me, is this really what you want, why did you abandon me, sell me, you thought this would be a fertile path; and all I can do is not loose courage and forget about the lack of disciple, the shortness of breath and the feeble faith.
